Lake Windermere in the atmospheric English rain painted from the town of Ambleside in Cumbria. I have spent more time in the rain and fog in Cumbria than I have in the sunshine and I have always enjoyed trying to capture the mood and the atmosphere of a place. There is nowhere else quite like The Lake District for the sudden weather changes and this is why everyone loves it.
That evening in Ambleside, I was drawing and photographing this scene, it was persistent rain and I was shouted at by a man for walking along a pier (!) but the light on the lake and in sky was beautiful. If you know the Lakes, you will recognise the weather, which is proper English camping weather...
Printed area size 700 x 240 W mm plus a 1 inch wide border. Printed by my production partner D Studio to order and delivered securely packaged in a tube by 1st class Royal Mail. Print can be sent directly to the recipient if it is a gift.
